WHAT IS A POSTPARTUM DOULA?

DOULA noun do͞olə

Why hire a Postpartum Doula?

Postpartum Doulas support the mother so she can be a mother to her baby. Feeding her, doing light cleaning, supporting her milk supply, giving support to the partner and family as well.

Postpartum can also consist of a lot of unknowns that new parents didn’t realize would occur. Postpartum Doulas are great for when you’re feeling lost and alone.

 ~~~
A Postpartum Doula can:
  • Help you with food prep or cook you nourishing meals.
  • Set you up for breastfeeding success and give you evidence-based information about feeding your baby.
  • Offer to do light cleaning and baby laundry.
  • Watch the baby so you can nourish yourself.
  • Offer resources for you, your partner, and expecting grandparents so they can support you on your motherhood journey.
  • Refer you to another professional if anything falls outside the doula’s scope of practice.
  • Help mitigate and prevent postpartum anxiety and depression.
    The goal of a doula is to help you feel rejuvenated, held, cared for, loved, supported, nourished, well-rested, knowledgeable.
